WEEK FOUR
(Romans 7 & 8)
We’re in week four!!!!
In these chapters, Paul teaches us about how we are released from the Law, how the Law shows us our sin, and how God uses all things for our good.
1. Romans 7:7 tells us that the Law helps us see what sin is, but that it cannot help us overcome it- only Jesus can. Are there areas where you’re trying to overcome struggles in your life by way of the Law, which is effort, when Jesus is offering you His grace to help you in your battle?
2. Romans 8:1 says that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Condemnation is shame over what you’ve done wrong, which Paul tells us is done away with by Christ. Are there areas you’re allowing shame and condemnation to reign in your life when God has already forgiven you?
3. Reread Romans 8:5-8. What is your mind set on?
4. Romans 8:17 says that we are co-heirs with Christ. Heirs receive the inheritance of their parent, and our Father is God. So, what God has, you have… Think about, and list a few, of the things that this means for your life.
5. Romans 8:37 says that we are in all things “more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Are there any places you’ve embraced a victim mindset rather than a perspective of victory? Where? Ask God to show you how to move in victory in that area.
